TA's Formula
« on: July 26, 2007, 07:48:05 AM »
After much talk, tons of hype, and then an extended period of silence, TA finally revealed his "formula" for weight loss/gain last night.  This is the formula he claims will allow anyone to figure out exactly how many calories they need on any given day to acheive a specific weight loss/gain by a specific date.

Is this revolutionary?  How does it actually work?

Discuss.    :)

Take the lbs of fat lost during a specific period and multiply that by its caloric value. This will equal the total calories lost in storage for a given time frame.

Take the number of calories eaten per day.  You can do an average, but a constant will provide you with incredibly accurate results.  Multiply that by the given length of time.  This is your total calories from food ingested during this period.

Now take the total calories lost from storage and add them with the total calories that you ingested in the time frame.  This is how many calories you have effectually used in the given time period

Now take the total calories burned and divide that by the time period. The longer the time period the more accurate.

Have fun with it.  It is all you will ever need.

it's just a really fucking long way to say the same shit everyone already knows

calories in vs. calories out.....except he didn't mention ANYTHING about timing/type of calories which
is the most important of anything

he seems to not understand that your body does not wait till the end of the day to calculate how many
calories are ingested and how many are burned, then decides "ok, now i am going to gain or lose a couple
ounces"

Adonis is ripped to shreds so obviously the man knows what he's talking about.

It seems to me that the approach is somewhat flawed from the get-go.  Without using a dunk tank, how do you accurately determine the specific amount of fat lost over any time period?

If that goes out the window, then you are back to the basics...calories in versus calories out.  It's this amazing thing called a "DIET."   ::)

Not that i follow his principles , but I have been sick of eating so many meals so I calorie controlled my diet with complete disregard for anything else and the results are amazing.

I have lost no muscle and am losing weight, I don't know how much muscle i will retain when I get very low B/f but so far so good.

all he did was describe the theory of weight loss by caloric deficit.  it has been around since...well.... its been around forever.

adam has an inflated idea of himself in his mind. that is why he thinks he came up with this. in reality, he may have thought of it on his own..in these terms.. which is pretty cool. i have done that before with certain scientific theories..(thought of them before someone told me that they already existed). but i never claimed to have "invented" the idea.

adam, you need to gain a sense of irony.

Adonis is ripped to shreds so obviously the man knows what he's talking about.

Anyone can be ripped at 6'0 and 155lbs, see, the whole trick is to maintain some sort of muscle mass while losing fat.........but since this is a bodybuilding board, people should already know that, besides, his "formula" isn't exactly revolutionary :-\!!

daily average in/daily average out, >1= you gain weight, <1= you loose weight.

to sum it up; if you eat too much you get fat, if you eat too little you'll loose weight.

However, no one knows if he's actually using his formula or not. Come on squad you're smarter then that - you seem to buy into everything he says.
