Is there something cheaper out there than Ivanko that's of similar quality?

It just seems a little steep to pay $1,100 for a bar.

Has anyone bought the olympic bars from the New York strength website?

i just did, i found the Werksan powerlifting package, for 1199 i get a bar and around 300 lbs of weights.  I'm having a hard time finding anything by York, didn't they have some legal troubles recently?

Be careful when going for a cheaper bar. They could have a funky carbon percentage in them, making them tender, and possible to snap at higher loads.

The reputable brands don't do that.

The best bars I know of are Leoko's and Eleiko's. Ivanko's are good too. But best bang for the buck would be Leoko IMO. Out of the world knurling on the Leoko barbells as of late fo' sho'.

they have some of the best bars out there, they have a York PL bar for 480.00 and an Eleiko training line bar for 759.00, awesome bars and great investments.

The Texas bars from Elitefts.com are reasonable and like Squadfather said the york bar that you can get from Ironmind is great.  We have had one of those in my gym for 5 years with numerous over 600 pound loads and it is still straight as an arrow.
