I'd say its definately easier than making it to the NBA, NFL, etc., but its still not something that just anyone can do.
It's actually harder . The standards in bb limit the genetic pool to a very select few.

Are you kidding me? Do you know how many thousands of young players try to make it to those major leagues? The big difference between reaching a pro status in basketball, football, ... and reaching it in bodybuilding is simple: you need talent to make it to the NFL or the NBA. To make it in the IFBB pro ranks you need genetics (response to training and drugs) and dedication, that's about it.

Lots of shit talkers but that's what makes it so much fun here. Motherfuckers who couldn't even win a "Best built guy in the gym" competition(I've seen quite a few getbig member pics ::)),  talking about how EASY turning Pro is. No respect for the hard work or the sport! So the question remains-- WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU ON A BODYBUILDING MESSAGE BOARD?
ANSWER: Latent homosexuality  ;D

schools out, son......

how do you figure that if your genetics were of the average guy, you would just be an average guy...the average guy sure as hell doesnt want to be a pro bodybuilder. is this what you base your logic on, hey look these average gym rats arent as big as me...fuck i must have far superior genetics...what the fuck kind of reasoning is that Bob.

better "receptors"...yea wouldnt be that you just take a hell of alot more than the average gym rat would it Bob.

where are you getting this receptor site bullshit from...are you a doctor. what evidence do you have that supports some "special people" such as yourself have some kind of predisposition to respond to steroids much more effectively than everyone else.

hahahah "im a USA and world champion" yes you are bob, wont take that "prestigeous" acheivement away from you...you won a competition where you parade around on stage in a fucking g-string oiled up with a bunch of other men posing to a bunch of other pole smokers to see whos got the biggest muscles.

hey i like bodybuilding dont get me wrong but its an interest i am ebarressed to admit of having to anyone out side of the gym thats for sure. Do bodybuilders not realise how much of a joke they are to the general public???

so im delusional now...what exactly about Bob?? delusional to think that you are no better than the average person??

yes school is out Bob you really "owned" me there...good one mate.
at least i am still in school, studying to get a real fucking job so i dont have to parade around on stage like a fucking retard.

There are thousands of guys on playgrounds all over the country that have the talent to play in the NBA.A lot of that is luck.Right place right time, right team situation, right coach, right style of play etc etc.Your right that pro bodybuilders need the right genetics, but the fact is that there are 7,000,000 people in this country using drugs and a handfull of pro bodybuilders. So drugs are clearly not the most important issue or there would be a hell of a lot more well built guys in the gym, instead of the idiots juicing and still not being able to bench 3 plates.

do you ever wonder why these people who detest bodybuilders so much spend so much of their time on a bodybuilding website??

Self-hate at juicing and training for years and still looking like shit. :)

Or in Brendan_192's case a pro bodybuilder fucked his girlfriend. :D

Small legs but a big squat and a big total. In fact, like I always say WAAAAAAAAAAY stronger then ANYONE who posts on here any day or anytime.By the way,I will be lifting in Oct.,care to come and compete with a guy with no legs? Then I will take a year and a half and concentrate on bodybuilding, then we will see how my legs are.Once again, imagine this.I have no legs and still manage to ALWAYS place in the top five in bodybuilding no matter what the show,no matter how many guys in the class.Amazing, and even more amazing doing it one year after a full rupture of the patella.

with all bullshit aside, it would be a miracle when one of these Pro bodybuilders decided not to bullshit the average person about what bodybuilding really is about. I remember there was a guy in my gym long time ago, who would tell us that all he does was eating and workout a lot, and that's how he got to be 265lbs of muscle mass. ahhaha...we did believe him, as none of us knew nothing back then, but man, we're now realize why he's suffering from all kinds of  side effects nowadays

If you really think it's harder to get a pro card than to play in the NBA f.e., you're just plain delusional . Most NBA players were superstars in the NCAA , still few of them make an impact in the L. Granted some of them get into the L just because they are tall and can grab some rebounds, but if they don't show some skills they never last long in the L and go to minor leagues. For god's sake, a guy like Kamali, with all the flaws his physique is known for (arms, calves, ...) got his pro card and even made it to the O!! Look at guys like Mike Morris when he was on stage clean; look at Tom Prince claiming being clean at 260 pounds a few months after he was diagnosed with kidney problems...and look at him now...They lie about the weights they use and about what they take. Sure, some take less than others and it shows...Of course when they are big as houses, it's gotta be the genetics ::)
I train in the same gym as Jean-Luc Favre, 1989 World Champion and former Olympia competitor, and he told me exactly what I told you in my previous post: you have to have been blessed with great genetics (response to training and gear) to become a pro, but the drugs make the difference. Some aren't afraid to go past some barriers in drug use in order to be successfull, that's about it.
