As far as digestibility/absorption goes, I agree that other macronutrients/protein will slow the absorption. I have used the unflavored WMS mixed with chocolate protein and it was about the same as drinking an MRP, not ideal for pre/during workout.
Currently I have IDS Waximaize and it tastes all right - I mix it with creatine and BCAA's and drink 40gms before and 40gms after. I also picked up the original Vitargo CGL since Vitamin shoppe was closing these out and selling them cheap.
IMO the original vitargo cgl is much better than the other two I've tried - I don't know if it makes a difference but the consistency is different and more of a gelatin than the others. I remember there were some arguements on the board saying vitargo used a "superior" waxy maize and I never bought into it at the time, but I after trying 3 different brands I think there is something to it.
