Bob stood the test of time more than Cormier. Cormier nearly died and has yet to come back. Bob competed as a pro till he was 41 years old AND he looked better in 2006 than he did in 1987 when he was 22 and won the Junior Nationals. Looking better at 41 than 22 is amazing. (Oh, and as far as I know, no health issues)

Still, that is weird that so many guys from that contest ended so badly.

Something about training for 20 years and coming through with the health intact, the size intact, the mind in tact and still being able to compete at a PRO level.

Yeah, something we can all aim for. lol.

I always thought Castagnoli should have been a pro...to bad about him, prolly should have won the NA's the year Stan McCrary won, if I remember right it could have gone either way.

funny about that top 10...man at the time that was a great line up, Edgar Fletcher was supposed to be in the shape of his life and I think he was 3rd after prejudging but dropped out due to something....body cramps maybe?  That line up right there with everyone in top shape is better than anything we've seen for along time.

Bob is good but Cormier was doing battle in the pros for many years and many shows...

Agreed. Cormier has certainly accomplished more on the stage, but Bob has carved out a nice career to go along with his competitive accomplishments. The "???????" was because I wasn't sure if Bob officially retired from competitive BBing.

that's what I'm all about.

heard an interview with Mike on no bull a few weeks ago, sounds like he had some tremendous health issues.  I don't know if they were actually caused by BB and everything it takes to be at that level but I felt bad for what he had to go through.

Demayo.........sounds like his life just went right in the shitter the minute he got married.  There's an interview with him by trevor smith over on mayhem.  Don't know what happened after that point in time but it was really a shame.

That's not Cormier. That's obviously some wannabe-Cormier look-a-like. There's nary a cell phone in sight.
