One thing I will say, the clips I see on U-Tube etc highly impress me of the quality of our fighting men.
A draft would pollute that IMO.

But these poor guys been ridden hard and put away wet for way too long. They've given all that can be expected IMO.

Bush rode the Greatest Military Machine of all time right into the ground w/ foolish ill-thought thru reaction.
Superior force should achieve its goals mainly by imposing intimidation.

military draft would screw up the military BIG time. that means all the friggin shitheads of society would be walking in to the recruiting offices and trying to sign up. it would be one of the stupidest moves in American History. Personally i don't think it will ever happen.

In theory it SHOULD, but in fact it wouldn't. Not so many rich boys end up grunts, except by choice.

It really depends on how they run the draft, there will be alot more scrutiny on this draft. I think it might not be so bad. As long as I can bounce those who need to go, and the punishments are harsher. Further, they need to have a different system for draftee's. 3 Year enlistments, different benefits when u get out, bonuses if u want to go regular army. I think alot of though needs to be put into this. All you bastards can come work for me.

I believe they think they've found a way around it... If you're drafted, they're going to stick you in a non-combat position and if you enlisted yourself, you'll be more likely to see combat and I believe the other thing was that the initial years of conscription will be few numbers and then go up.

If I get called I will leave the country in a heartbeat. This is Cheney's war and noone else should fight it except the rich motherfuckers and their descendants.

Personally, I think they will not do it because they sense that there would be major desertions and people will riot in the US.

No shit. I would automatically vote against any politician who voted in favor of a draft, regardless of party. Forcing people into the military against their will is immoral IMO. The all-volunteer professional military works just fine, especially in this day and age when it's about technology, not numbers. Why fucck with that?

I dont think a draft is a good idea for a quality force. Esp these days.
I think the Military guys are way underpayed.
They should selectively offer incentive to high quality prospects is one idea.
