This is an open letter to John Romano in regards to his most recent article in MD.
It was recently brought to my attention that I was included in your article on Lee Priest, and his current situation with the IFBB/ PDI.
While you are certainly entitled to your opinions, as a journalist, I would expect you at least attempt to get your facts straight before putting out a column and reporting like you know what you're talking about.
In fact...you actually relied on third hand information and speculation instead of simply picking up the phone, or emailing me to verify what you were about to write.
You report that Lee's suspension was up the day AFTER the AC Pro, when in fact, it is up the DAY OF the AC Pro...this would prove important as it answers the rest of your drivel which is wrong as well.
You report that Jim Manion and Steve Blechman met to discuss Lee's possible reinstatement, and Lee's subsequent rejection of the 9 month offer....true.
You then go on to wonder why I wouldn't have known of such a deal, and the result thereof....I knew of this deal LONG before you ever did my friend....
The reason you wonder why, is because I said I was "going to bat" for Lee on getting his suspension lifted earlier....this is true...I did say that( in a public forum as well)...you ponder whether I was just using this for my OWN agenda, as the deal was already rejected, right?
The facts are this:
Because Lee's suspension is up at 12:00 midnight the DAY OF THE SHOW...I did in fact, go to bat on Lee's behalf (and with his permission) to attempt to get his application for reinstatement retroactive to 12:00 midnight, thus allowing him to compete.....
IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE 9 MONTH OFFERED SUSPENTION LEE REFUSED EARLIER IN THE YEAR.
You question my integrity, fail to do any homework to verify your reporting, attempt to call me out, but only succeed in making a complete jackass of yourself (this wouldn't be the first time, would it?)
Leave my name out of any future articles you write...or at least know WTF you're talking about before attempting to sound like you're "in the know"....chances are...you're not.
