Ginseng = Energy.........yes/no???
« on: August 23, 2007, 10:25:25 AM »
I have been experiencing a lack of energy for the last couple of months, so i desided to try a enrgy pill.

the stuff i got is called "Ginsa Gold triple ginsa rush"

American Ginseng Root Extract 200mg
Panax Ginseng Root Extract 200mg
Guarana Seed Extract 200mg (caffeine 6mg)
Siberian Root 200mg

I know that there has been no sientifically proven effects of Ginseng ecept for insomnia and headaches BUT nevertheless !!!
My question is, has anyone tryed this pill or any other Ginseng pill?.....What results did you get?

I took some ginseng last night and had no problems sleeping.  It is just ginseng, American 200mg, Korean 200mg, Ashwaghanda 200mg, and Eleuthero Root (Siberian) 200mg.   I took some today and can't say I felt any energy from it.

I am taking it for mood enhancement.

I've never noticed an increase in energy when taking ginseng. You may notice a pick-me-up with the caffiene though. I could have sworn that Guarana seed had more caffiene then about 3% - I thought it was more like 30%.

It's now 2 hours since i tolk it the first time. i tolk 2 pills

I feel more "happy" sort of speeking, so i definatly think it does something with the mood one is in.
I was out swimming before and i felt (and still feel) some energy, but the thing is that it is more energy in the way that my mood is better today, i can't really say if it's the pills or just because it's not raining in new york today.

another thing is that im kind of shaking and feeling restless in my arms and legs, its NOT very plesant but i really feel like doing some sport that requires me to lift heavy things or punch and kick. STILL i dont know if this is the pills (might be the caffeine in them)

ill keep you informed in this post on how it works and how it affects me if anyone would be interested.

I take eleuthero extract (technically not ginseng) after working out, which is just before bed.  I consistently get a better night's sleep and feel rather relaxed the next day.  Have not tried true ginseng herbs though...

Ginseng is definitely good for energy, and it is an excellent nerve tonic. Not all ginseng is created equal though, and how it was harvested and processed will effect both it's potency & efficacy.

My personal preference when it comes to ginseng is not in a pill form... our bodies expend so much energy trying to break down stuff. I prefer the tincture. You can get them in little vials of about 10ml

ps - If you take a combination of ginseng & licorice root... well... just try it... you'll see what I'm talking about.  :P

I don't know, I think the tryptophan has.  I have slept pretty good on that.
