Is drinking Muscle Milk RTD before bedtime an effective bedtime drink?

  Same product, different form.

The mixed protein/fat combo would indeed make it good for a nighttime protein.

tastes great also...the rtds can get expensive so i stick with the powder...usually do 2scoops of the choc with tablespoon of natural peanut butter before bed.

only time i dont use it is when im dieting. then i'll switch over to a plain whey/casein mix.

If its more convienent in RTD, but they are the same and it does make a good bedtime drink.

Side note:The powder form would be much less expensive and you have about 28 flavors to pick from!

before bed take a fish oil pill and nothing else but some water. this will prevent muscle tissue loss, and promote fat burning while you sleep. if you have a really fast metabolism take some amino acids with the fish oil..     nightime is for fat loss!

Musclemilk is shit. Taste great but so so many flaws. Carbs? 18gms fat?, 1/2 sat fat (or mct's ::)) caseinate as primary? better off with a decent time release and a tbs of pb. THe occasional RTD is nice for taste but nightly.... Get ready for some chub chub.

I always thought RTDs were pasteurized which causes the loss of some the important bioactive compounds.

Fish oil by itself won't do shit to prevent muscle catabolism.  Get in some whole food sources like lean steak, salmon, or a couple tablespoons of natural peanut butter.  Your body still needs the calories to keep from eating up muscle.

As for the Muscle Milk, like somebody else said, they're decent on occasion but not the best choice for a regular meal.  It'd be one thing if they had fewer carbs, but a high-fat/moderately high-carb drink isn't ideal.
