Olympia attendance?

Just wondering if anyone knows a rough estimate of how many people will attend the O this year? and if anyone knows, the crowds from previous years. Just curious.


(I've posted this on the Olympia board, but thought id put it here as-well as theres way more people here)

Sure...it was about 7K last year...and could be close to 10,000 this year.

It's great to see some serious crowd going to Olympia! Maybe the prize money will also grow as more and more people buy a ticket. Hopefully...

Exactly where did you go to school.  The arena can hold 8,000 people plus a few more.  Can you tell me where the other 2,000 will be seating.  I would love to see as would everyone else.

Not even close.  The Arnold Expo is awesome.  The Olympia Expo is great too but not near as big as the Arnold.  But if you ask Chic he will say 400,000 people went to the Olympia Expo last year so about 600,000 will be there this year.   ::)

It's pretty well documented on here how Chic numbers seem to "expand" quite a bit.  It could be all the mirrors make it look like more people are there than in reality.  He has some kind of "syndrome" that gives him the illusion that everything he says is fact.  Stating there will be 10,000 people in an arena that seats 8,000 in the configuration of the Olympia is just one instance.  I am sure he will be on here soon to say he was joking or he was counting the people in the casino too. ::)

it shouldn't be too hard to find the seating capacity of the area online. Can you provide a link?

I called the Arena line and asked the guy.  There are less than 1000 seats sold so far but that doesn't mean anything since most are paid for there.  The number is 888-234-2334  the website is http://www.orleansarena.com/seating-charts.html

Exactly Ed.... which also doesn't reflect the floor seating or the VIP rooms located upstairs.

The only seats we dont sell are the ones loctaed at the far end, behind the cameras set up etc......

Thanks for the reply Chick, those sound like some solid numbers. As for everyone doubting Chick, i think he'd know, being emcee and all you know. If 7000 people attended last year, its not hard to imagine that a few thousand more will come. The Olympia is getting bigger each year, thus more people will attend. Also, 2007 could be a history making event, if Ronnie were to win, or to see Ronnie in possibly his last show. People will come to see that.
