Oh, that's retarded as well. I had thought that the biggest mistake people do with shrugs is doing a round circle movement with their shoulders while lifting the weight. Now I can see that I've been very, very wrong.

On a serious note, my traps have responded very well from using a lighter weight for reps of 15-20.
