I am not really a fan of florida myself, I alway thought that south beach is/was overrated and filled with too many tourist.
Hey Laura, has the down turn in the realestate market affected you area as other parts of florida? I know that some parts that went "condo mania" are really feeling it now. Many people that bought pre-construction are finding that the value is less that what they paid for it
I love South Florida. I don't think I would want to live anywhere else. We are in the perfect area. We are about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from South Beach which is great. Just far enough from Miami and Ft. Lauderdale to be removed from the choas, but close enough to drive if we want to visit it. We live very close to Juno Beach which is breath taking. We went to the beach yesterday, the water was about 85 degrees and high surf. There were quite a few surfers out, which was cool to watch. Unfortunately I got wacked by huge wave and lost my sunglasses and Michael got stung by a jellyfish. All in all it was a great beach day, lots of fun.
As far as the real estate, they are building condo's and townhouses left and right and prices are pretty high. And like I said, if goat did his research before posting he would know that PBG is considered the new Boca and has become even more upscale than Boca. We moved here at the perfect time.
