British media has been riveted by the disappearance of the 4 year old girl. her parents left her and younger twins alone in an apt in the Algarve (Portugal) while they dined . . . and she was allegedly snatched. Now portuguese police think that Kate (a pediatrician, I believe) might have accidentally killed the child and disposed off the body. her husband's a doctor too.

If this is true, that woman has more gall than anybody alive . . . the way she's used the press for the last several months is truly amazing.

here she is marching out of the portuguese police hq.

I read this story in the Herald today. Apparently British authorities think the Portuguese police have botched the investigation and are trying to blame the mother. It's a sad story and if she did it may she rot in hell.

I wasn't aware that she left her 4 year old and 2 year old twins alone in the house when they were abducted. That's a shady story if I've ever heard one. What mother would leave 3 toddlers alone in a foreign country?

It took them fucking long enough. This whole story was weird.
I remember reading a break down of the initial police questioning and thinking it was very odd. It was really inconsistent.

Anyway, she's a loon and she killed her daughter.

From what I read, they were on vacation with another couple and the twins were theirs.

They were at a hotel and they were having dinner at the hotel restaurant, but they claimed to go upstairs every half hour to check on the kids.

the portuguese police are not the most 'with it' cops, but i doubt they would have taken this step w/o some pretty damning evidence.

after all, kate has succeeded in focusing europe's eyes on herself and her family.

facts 101....

the mc canns (who are both doctors) went for a meal with their friends on the night of ''the disappearance''

they supposedly checked up on their kids every half hour...taking it in turns, with their friends...

the bistro was only 50 yds away from the front door of the apartment they were staying in...

madeline was asleep with her twin siblings...on their own

ok folks....lets spot the flaws.....

1. who out of u folk would leave ANY kid alone in an apartment in a foreign country....let alone 3 kids??? wtf?....hands up...
2. how could u NOT spot someone at the door of that apartment...if u were keeping vigil?

no parent....at least no caring parent...would ever...EVER!!!...leave ANY child alone without supervision....let alone 3 of them...... i am a parent to 3 kids...and those guys are never out of my site...even at the local park....

i aint saying that the mum is responsible....oh no.... they are BOTH resonsible...!! this is the fucking selfish parents deciding to go for a few drinks and paella....and fuck the kids...they can sleep in their room til we get back....

there have been many kids that have disappeared before and since the madelaine debacle....and whilst i feel for those concerned....i cant help but feel that their position has captured the community....

utter shite tho tbh....something is weird with this case...i hope the papers are wrong....and her mother didnt accidently kill the kid.... but at this stage ...straws will be clutched...

They were on holiday and had dinner every night with about 6 other people, mostly Doctors.
Apparently they left the 3 kids alone every night and the old lady who lived in the apartment above heard the kids crying for their
parents the previous few evenings. The theory is that the Doctors drugged the kids to make them sleep all evening and accidentally gave Madeline an overdose. If true then all the Doctor friends will be in deep shit as they backed up the lies about the constant checking of the kids. There are rumours that they were into wifeswapping. I find most Doctors to be very ignorant when it comes to practical issues and arrogant with it. If the McCanns were an unemployed couple or normal working class they would have been crucified by the media but as Doctors they have received a sycophantic sympathy. I hope this is true because it would mean Madeline didn't suffer at the hands of a pervert and it would out these "Devout Catholic" doctors for what they really are. Hell, they even met with the Pope and kissed his Ring grovelingly (the one on his hand).

Just read that the British intelligence have gone through basically the whole background of the parents.
Also the Portuguese police were watching them since day 1 and even taped private conversations etc...

I've been to portugal recently and the case was still huge there. I just hope that who-ever's guilty will be found and convicted.

Could be the old double standard... always blame the mother for not protecting her children etc.,
...or it could have been the blood they found in the couples rental car that matches Madeleine's.

I don't know the amount of blood or the reasoning for the blood being there.
It could have been alot, or it could have been minor amounts from nothing more than a scraped knee.
All evidence must be throughly presented in context before I will pass judgement on someone.

Under Portuguese law, officially naming someone as a suspect confers special rights to them... what I do not know

The cops whole case is that they found Maddies blood in a car that was only rented AFTER Madelaine was reported missing.

Personally I think the McCanns are innocent when it comes to the daughters disappearance. What they're guilty of is extremely bad and selfish parenting - it's typical of career highflyers who want it all - they think they can just swan off and forget about the kids, taking it for granted while they revert back to single-life and have a fucking free-for-all.

People have been saying that the parents don't look that bothered about Madeleine's disappearance - probably because they're on shitloads of sedatives to keep the stress away. They're both doctors - they know what to take.

The Portuguese cops have no clue - that girl was out the country before they could get their act together. It's only becuase of the worldwide media attention that they're now flapping and trying to pin the blame on the obvious suspects but they're clutching at straws.

It annoys me though how they've got all the attention in the media though - can't remember who said it above but it's true what you said about if it were a working-class or black family the media wouldn't give a shit.
