Boureki from Chania thats what you should eat.The best and many many more.Nothing compares with the Greek foods. Also i just wanna say that Greece and Greeks arent like in the movie MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING there are simularities but here there are still values that count, like family.Lots of different styles of places, glamourous and full of clubs and nightlife like Athens,Mykonos,Thessaloniki and quiet, relaxing like some small islands Amorgos,Folegandros,Alonisos and many more.Crete is the biggest island and has everything, cities, villages, lots of beaches(the best you'll ever see).Beautiful girls,Best food,Best places...

I remember taking the car ferry accrost from Italy. I was struck by all the nice houses on the mediteranian  w/  solar pannels.
This was way back in the Mid 80s.
I bet that ocean front is not cheap at all.
Very nice.

And the little hill side homes in Athens. Really cool.
I walked my boot heels right off in Athens.  ;D

It was nice back then. Seem hard to go wrong there really.
I been many places. Athens, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Bangkok, Madrid & Barcelona are among my favorites.
Athens was real cool. So much ancient history just sort of fenced off.

Sorry to disappoint you guys, but raki is Turkish, as well as baklava and bourek and much more. Take my word for it, and if you don't want to, then search a little and you will see.

It doesn't matter where I am from, but what I said is true. I can't believe you actually think those foods are Greek. They are Turkish and they came to the Balkans from Turkey, during the Ottoman Empire. Just do some research and you will find out. Find the answer in some neutral place, don't ask Greeks or Turks. And if those foods are Greek, how do you explain the fact that they also eat it in Albania, Bulgaria, ex-Yugoslavia (especially the parts that used to be under Turks - Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia...)? How do you explain that? As far as I can remember, those countries used to be a part of the Ottoman Empire, not a part of Greece... LOL :) So, that food came from Turkey, not from Greece.

What does that have to do with food and where it came from? Besides, I know a lot of tourists that prefer Turkey over Greece. And why are you writing "Turkey" in quotation marks? As if it wasn't a real country? You know what, Greeks are too sensitive about their country, they think they're the best and whoever says the opposite they go mad.

P.S. I'm not Turkish.

In the time of Troyan war, Turks were not where they are now. Those people that lived there were not Turks at all. They came much later.

You're so ignorant. If you knew anything about history, you would know that. So, basically you're saying that Greeks introduced their cuisine to Turkey during the Troyan war?

1.) Those people WERE NOT Turks back then.
2.) Even if they were, are you saying that Greeks taught them about their food, and then forgot their own food and Turks had to remind them about it thousands of years later? Ridiculous.
3.) If that food is Greek and not Turkish, why does it have Turkish names? Every single name is Turkish, Greeks just adjusted them to their own language.

reality check: did you know that Greek language is considered the "mother" of most languages? how many years of "history" does "Turkey" have? couple hundrend maybe compared to thousands of Greek history.
So, get your facts straight fuckin barbarian.
