The first time I benched I did 550 @225.
I quit benching after that because I would probably never become good at it anyway.
What are you working on now? I say go for levitation, that would be pretty cool.
It took years to get over 4 plates on a bench. I struggled with 315 X 4-6 for a long while, but I only improved when I focused on dumbell work, compound movements and prioritized my back training.
Seriously, 405 isn't exactly amazing poundages. If you think it is, you're either inexperienced, or are not training hard enough.
And no, I was not natural.
