Atlantic City: Miscalculation by Melvin
« on: September 15, 2007, 08:15:12 PM »
Melvin had generated a lot of buzz going into this year's Olympia based on his perfomance in last year's Olympia  There was no need for him to jeapordize his mystique by entering a 3rd rate show and finishing 4th.

agreed.  just the way politics work, I think this will hurt how the judges look at him in the olympia

Just explain how you determine a 3rd rate show?? It is a pro show right?? They are professionals right?? so im just confused, where is there the terms and conditions of a 3rd rate show??

yeah, it wasn't exactly a 3rd rate show, more so 2nd rate in my book.

still had some decent competitors besides Anthony. I still think the mo fo should have won though.

Okay, some of the key top guys weren't there

you don't expect all of them to show (like Cutler and Coleman)

If guys like Dex, Vic Martinez, etc. competed at the show, it would still be near first rate (like the Arnold), but since several of the top guys sat it out, I don't think you can call it "first rate"

the miscalculation was being too cocky thinking he could win the show looking smooth

As in none of the expected top 5 olympia qualifiers were competing.  Arnold and the O are 1st rate, all others are well under the top pay out there and a $10,000 show is 3rd rate.  2nd rate is in between 1st and 3rd.  Hope this helps.

national champion, wild card Champion , Comes in condition - a little strange but a good bodybuilder. I know for a fact that if he was not shooting his mouth off at the meeting- his sportsmanship would of been better and maybe he would of been compared more.

Just because MA was in the show it was not filled with top 5 competitors.  Has he even cracked the top 5 yet?
