Drinking at the gym
« on: September 17, 2007, 11:55:51 AM »
im not talking about getting drunk outside the gym and that it possibly would harm your diet etc

im talking about having a shot of whiskey before a heavy set, anyone tried it?

it sure wakes you up and gets you ready for action

THat's pretty funny.  When I was younger we'd try to max on the bench after drinking a bit.  incredibly dangerous.  But at the time, it's hilarious.

When I was in the Corps, my room mate used to drink a 6 pack before heading to the gym with me.

I have no idea how he used to keep the bar balanced when he bench pressed.  I always thought he was going to drop it on his grape.

I agree there.  Completely fearless.  And you believe you can do anything.

Powerlifters snort those salts before monster lifts.  I can imagine a shot of jack would be pretty similar

top 3?  hell no. Of course, I make the website, so I could make the website say that.  but no one would buy it.

Hopefully I won't be in the bottom 3!  I tried dieting down initially and after 10 days on eca, I was freaked and stopped everything for a bit.  So I'm not going to be diced (Holy crap... after a week on ECA I looked so different - veins everywhere - just unreal.  I responded incredibly to it - but had the heart pitter patter which scared me.  I gotta stick around for a bit.  ).  I"m posting pics.  I won't be dieted down to Adonis levels, but I'll be improved form my older pics.

BTW - on the topic of ECA - is that jumpy heart normal on it?  Only happened twice but scared me straight.  I actually went and got an EKG and blood enzyme work done a month or so later.  Heart was perfectly fine, doc said i'm in great shape, just stay away from ECA>  But damn, I miss that stuff bad.

I actually saw some dumb fuck a few years back crack open a can of budwiser while training. Needless to say, after a few budwisers, he needed help getting the loaded bar off his throat  ::)

When I was younger someone told me that Arnold would drink a few beers before he would lift..so for awhile I would drink 2 Heinekins before I would lift, and I got to be honest I got good workouts, maybe the carbs kept me fueled through the workout, but honestly I was getting good lifts.

Freaked me out the first time or two that it happened to me too. Then I got used to it, and now I actually LIKE that feeling...could probably become a tweaker real easy if I "wanted to." But I don't.
For me, I just have to remind myself to be extremely relaxed, or else I will be going a million miles an hour. The feeling eventually becomes "normal" and you act just like you would daily around the house. Like having your first buzz off of booze, you're not too sure what to think, then you get used to the effect and how to handle yourself.

Could you feel your heart? Like weird sensations? That's perfectly normal.

ECA is something special, ain't it? 50 mg of ephedrine a day and varying on the amounts of caffine and aspirin, it's sorta like cocaine with a longer half life.

very interesting.  I appreciate the input.  Does anyone else have experience with ECA and the heart pitter patters?  I would LOVE to use it.  I know, the doctor HAS to tell me not to use it.  But I'd love to hear more about experienced people have had.  Was my brief irregular heartbeat a normal thing?  Does it stop?   Is there a way to prevent it?

thanks!!

Corrected

some powerlifters musclebears at my old gym used to keep a 12 pack of Budweiser condoms in the gym refridgerator locker for "M on M cardio" after workouts.

How much of a dose were you taking? 25mg? Try splitting the pill in half for a week and then bump it back up to the 25mg dose.
I know a way I've used and "endorse" for taking ephedrine, is split all your 25mg tabs into half with a pill cutter, and then take a half of a pill every 2 hours. That way, you can more or less control the crash because you're almost constantly keeping it in your system, and it's not such a big dose that you will have that speed-like feeling (which is the feeling I aim for! :P ), which is what is freaking you out, correct?

Yes - that speed feeling is completely new to me.  I've never touched a single drug in my life (not even weed!) so I'm pretty used to my body feeling the same all the time.  The feeling of being sped up was something quite uncomfortable.

haha it makes you get super pumped and makes you THINK you can lift anything but in reality its completely incompatible with working out.
a few years ago while drunk i was checking out powerlifting clips on the internet and suddenly felt the urge to perform a max deadlift since i felt so powered up. i envisioned myself lifting huge amounts through sheer willpower and ran to the weights.
it did not go as expected
