number of sets
« on: September 18, 2007, 07:08:28 PM »
how many sets per body part are you guys doing? I'm at about 20 sets for large groups and 12 for the smaller ones with about 90 seconds between sets

I just had a nap...thoguht it was short guess not though..last time i checked this was the steroid info board...

Prohormone threads get moved, but training threads dont? Honestly i think people here should help more wtih prohormone questions than training..

I generally do about 3 sets that specifically targets a muscle, but not necessarily isolates, I then rotate to try to hit all the muscle in that muscle process.  For example with biceps I will do 3 straight bar curls, then 3 with an ez curl bar, then 3 hammer curls, then 3 reverse curls.  By the end of that sequence I have started on the brachialis and then go into my forearm workout where I startout doing reverse wrist curls with my palms down, then hammer wrist curls, then wrist curls (all in sets of 3).  By doing this I get a very even workout in my arms without overtraining any one point.  Since I switched to this type of workout my injuries have been non-existant (I used to be very injury prone).  Anyway I stick to that kind of training for all body parts, I'll try to post a whole weeks schedule when I have more time.

This is the "Steroids info & Hardcore" boards.  I don't see a problem with training Q&A in here as it can fall under the hardcore section.  I personally don't go to the training boards because there are too many psedo experts that "bench 700 lbs" and post rediculous training routines.  I can only discuss cycles so often, breaking the monotony is nice from time to time.

This is exactly why these type of questions are allowed here. I know Rim and I have been adamant about this section of the board being more open to various types of discussion, and many of these topics can and do fall under the term "hardcore." Further, in many cases, those who choose to use AAS are pretty adamant and serious about their training, and want answers from those who are like minded. Not that these individuals do not exist on the other boards, they do, but like RDW said, those boards are more often then not plagued with "supposed" experts, who for the most part bash and proclaim ludicrous opinions.

Also, a lot of guys once they begin using AAS automatically assume their training should change, when in fact this is false. True, you can get away with more sets when on cycle, but that's not the point of being on cycle IMO. The point of being on cycle is to do what you're already doing right, just a little bit better.

Back & Legs- 12-14
Bi's- 6-8
Tri's- 8-9
Chest- 8-9
Shoulders- 9
Traps- 3-4
Calves- 2 2x/wk

Is this your off season sets or do you do basically the same sets year round but change your eating and rest periods while preparing for a contest? I would have thought that you would be doing more sets for Chest, Shoulder's, back and legs.

Yeah i fullly agree A Jr, I dont have a problem with those threads, I do like em and they should stay here. What I meant was that stays yet prohormone threads are moved practically the second they arrive. Well prohormones ARE highly anabolic, and people on the supplement boards dont give people the right advice, in terms of NOT using that crap and maybe finding some nolva so they dont get tits from that crap when they listen to us and stop takin that stuff. Just my two cc's

I do almost the exact same.

Training questions will be answered better in here anyway. the guys on the training board are usually clueless.

Many "Natties" overtrain more than a IFBB pro.
Then call steroid users "Lazy".  ::)

Same yr round, the only change is the weight used gets a little lighter when dieting but not on purpose...never purposely lower the weight IMO.

Bro, it's just been agreed by the mods here and the supplement board, that these threads would go to the supplement board. Yes, some of those compounds are anabolic, but that's not enough to justify putting it here...after all, food is very anabolic, more so the PH's.

AJ is that sets per exercise or total sets per muscle training?
