Doc lives in Antigua, I bet people are a lot thinner there though. You are right Mike, no big difference between 30 and 35%, but the difference between 7 and 12% is huge relatively speaking.

All bf machines (every method) have been proved to be inconsistent

They are used as a gauge of progress...not what exact bf% you are

I have to agree with Knny on this one.

The same machine (Tanita) has me at 15.1%. Before any of you trainers ask, (LOL) it was set for athletic build.

CQ is the only one who's seen a more recent pic than my avatar. If I'm really 15.1%, there are a lot of really fat people out there. Can't really use the standard "off season" excuse, LOL! But at 6'2", 202lbs I really don't feel obese, even though the BMI is about 25.5.

What about these herbalife products selling distributors who claim to be knowledgeable about dieting? One of them had this 'body fat machine' thingy which could measure your body-fat in digital numbers.   ::)

This is true, and I tell people that who ask to guage their BF% using the above handheld monitor.

It's just not accurate.

sorry doc....it's not

They have found it can show a substantial difference depending on lung capacity & volume of air in the lungs.

 :-\

Again....

It's just a "gauge"

What does this topic has to do on a board titled "Open Talk for Girl Discussion"?

About as much as anything you have to post about in Y........

If you knew how to cycle, maintaining your BF% wouldn't be an issue.

Mass monster?

Not if you count lbm.....

I appreciate the gesture but will lower my bodyfat for a few months and step on the machine again. More out of curiosity than any true fatassedness on my part.

You think you are bigger than Alex, Meatloaf?

Bigger doesn't mean anything.

Strength is everything.......

The day I care about size, I'll megadose on anabolics and devote my life to bodybuilding.

Failing a lobotomy, I think I'll be OK with personal training, school and powerlifting.
