The lost art of Bodybuilding - the future of Bodybuilding!
« on: October 01, 2007, 03:38:04 AM »
Bodybuilding need to be an art, not a freakshow. And it should be displayed like an art - like Arnold did in Pumping Iron, when he stood on a rotating platform and people admired his body like a work of art.

Because of that the following need to be banned from Mr Olympia and other contest:

- no dancing
- no humping
- no headspin
- no running around stage posedown
- no hatebreed music
- no ass shaking
- no electric boogie
- no hand behind the ear "let me hear" you signs
- no shouting in the audience
- no costumes and props
- no slow r kelly type of soul or rnb music
- no techno
- no change of music
- no robot dance

Only classical music can be used. And posing should be slow and graceful. The audience need to wear a tux.

Bodybuilding need to be seen in the same light as finer exhibitions, opera - that kind of thing. Not chippendales. Not cheerleading. Not beauty pageants.

THIS is the future of Bodybuilding.

-no hatebreed music

was that what Rockel was posing to? just awfull

-Jay Cutler. His routine sucked aswell. sometimes he just stood like a goof there when the song stopped and guy talked. Pose to music not some talking voice. And the music changed like 5 times....

-Will Harris. no comment

-Dexter Jackson. soul rnb or whatever boring as allways.

The only decent routines was Wolf and Hides

yes and that would bring some class to it. and with class come respect.

you dont respect a body of someone strutting around stage like a male stripper to techno music.

no class.

I'm really sorry and I don't want you to take this the wrong way... Joe needs to retire or die, I mean last time I saw his image It looked like he was dead already and only to lazy to fall over.
Bodybuilding needs a Revolution from the inside.

will harris looked fine BEFORE he started that routine. then he made a spectacle of himself.

bodybuilding can be two things - grace and strength.

muscles look powerful and a sign of strength etc

but also graceful and beautiful when the bodyparts perfectly flow together.

but this dancing strutting shit does nothing for bodybuilding, the idea of strength and power is gone, and it doesnt look classy or gracefull. instead it looks silly and ridiculous.

why would people spend 20 years to build up a body that looks super human outta this world and then reduce themselves to a chippendale dancer? or someone who's trying to audition for jackson 5 reunion...

Joe Weider need to go back to the drawing board !

Joe Weider has retired.  Jim Manion is in complete control of pro bodybuilding today.
