I think if one can easily afford a huge wedding, well go for it, but to take a second mortgage as someone mentioned earlier - is not wise.

In many of the Caribbean resorts, they do wedding packages for tourists. You get the whole licence, ceremony/priest, cake, decor/flowers, food, wine all sorts of crap...all done in a beautiful tropical setting. Very cost effective, like $1,000 for just that. For ppl on the east coast USA, for like $10,000 they can fly their immediate family down, have all hotels, food for the whole stay, and the whole wedding. It is huge business here, they come in droves for weddings. Once I did see a couple leave seperately, after like 3 days all hell seemed to break lose, no idea what happened but I doubt it ended well :D

people are such mentally weak quitters these days, they want to get divorced over every little thing, "MOM, HE LEFT THE TOILET SEAT UP, I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M GOING TO FILE FOR DIVORCE!!!!!", adult human beings sicken me.

Leaving a toilet seat up is NOT grounds to file for divorce.
It's grounds to commit MANSLAUGHTER!

So unless you want to either die, or do time, ...have separate bathrooms.

I think you know what I mean but you like to start things.

::)  Good Grief, get a grip! I'm not starting anything. I'm giving you examples of why you cannot generalize.

There is no NORMAL. it all balls down to "individual tastes".
What is "NORMAL" for one is not "NORMAL" for another ...regardless of income.
Someone can be filthy rich but live a humble lifestyle, while others can have moderate means,
but very discriminating taste & high standards. Weddings for some are considered once-in-a-lifetime events,
and as such are highly individual. Don't ask a question to which you do not want the answer.

if my answer doesn't satisfy you, visit a wedding consultant, pick out what you want, and you'll have your price.

Good Luck to you!

Judi,

In all honesty: What do you feel the divorce rate would be if people spent as much time planning their lives as they do the wedding?

A wedding is one day, marriage is allegely for life.  :)

If you open it, ...close it.  If you turn it on, ...turn it off.
If you lift the lid, ...PUT IT THE FVCK BACK DOWN ...before I stab you repeatedly with an ice pick to your temple!

I can't tell you. It's so brilliant that if I ever write book the foolproof method will be included. Giving it away here, for free, wouldn't make any sense at all. :)
