I think some of the more established powers would like to dominate the EU, but I don't see it happening . . . once countries have had a taste of sovereignty, they're unlikely to give it up.

The EU is just like a bigger NAFTA . . . business benefits by fewer restrictions on cross-border business.

I have what could be a stupid question and kind of irrelevant so excuse me plz

I am not complaining, but why does the EU just gift blanket citizenship on some entire populations of Caribbean islands? It's great actually, we like it, but just curious as to why they do it?

So far they have granted many islands here like Anguilla, Cayman Islands, Montserrat, Turks and Caicos, Guadaloupe etc..

We are just getting citizenship served on a silver platter, why?

As a dual citizen of the USA and an EU country I am not complaining. I love the living and economic freedom I have, though I currently live in Asia. If I want to work in Hungary I do that, if I want to work in Sweden I do that, if I want to work in Portugal I do that. I'm past caring about the politics of the whole issue; I have no influence over it anyway but I do like the benefits accorded to me.

Nationhood is a young idea...barely 200 years old and it has given rise to the greatest horrors witnessed by humanity.

Nationhood is not a young idea. there is a class of patriotism/nationalism that is primitive and they are probably the majority. They are fucking sheeple who grab their plastic flags and waive them when called upon. There is another class of patriot that is not by any means primitive. One world government and/or a NWO will be nothing less than global tryanny for all. Agreed. But the EU was created in large part to be an economic competitor with Uncle Sam and I think it's doing that now;

Borders, yes. But our species needs to stop identifying itself by anything other than the individuals of which it is composed. Not Americans and Germans, not Muslims and Christians, not Republicans or Democrats. Homo sapiens and that's it. Well I agree for the most part. The individual is the most important part. The people, not the gov. The gov/nation should truely be a reflection of the people, it is not. The world is full of divide and rule paths that should be eliminated. All people should be equal.
