Using science, to make an attempt to create something more along the lines of art. But if backfired.
Science is something that can be replicated over and over again, using something similar to a "recipe" and the result is always the same. So, injection 700mg of test a week, would be part of the science...not to mention how it was science that discovered testosterone and thus was able to synthesize it.
Art, is something that is unique but not the exact same each time. A painting by Picasso, or the Sistine Chapel are examples. Both can be recreated, but the colors and how they're blended or the shape, etc...would not be exactly the same as if a machine (a machine made by science to be the same machine...a Ford car....

) had traced the original painting and recreated it exactly.
So, Dennis (and many others) were using science to create their form of art. But he (and many others!) fell short!
