Leaving a catabolic state
« on: October 11, 2007, 04:08:39 PM »
I am trying to increase my body weight, but I think I am on a catabolic state because I lost some kgs. How can I increse T levels naturally and what is the best way to end a catabolic state. I just want to say that I eat a lot 4 times a day, but I can't sleep more than 5 hours. (I am training for powerlifting)
Thanx...

eat more red meat, cut down on the cardio, take 1,000mg. of Vitamin C a day, take 30mg. of Zinc a day, have sex or masterbate more, i know it sounds funny but doing that stimulates test production, packing in the simple carbs after training also decreases post training cortisol production.

I would suggest eating eight times per day which would include twice during the night.

Eating oysters I read is really good to boost natural T (because of the zinc in them). You might want to try a ZMA supplement before bed or even a ZMA mixed with some potent tribulus.

he asked how to leave a catabolic state. not how to become MORE  anabolic.

the fastest way to leave an anabolic state is to consume the fastest digesting nutrients you can.. whey protein is great for this. if you dont have whey, egg whites are the fastest digesting whole food source. eating chickencould leave your body awaiting the nutrients for as long as an hour...red meat as long as four hours. compared to the 15-20 minutes it takes whey to hit the blood stream, and the half hour it takes eggw hites...makes it obvious why both choices would be ideal for first thing in the morning.

More food is your definitive answer.

The guy next door to me eats 4 times a day,a bodyubuilder or weight trainer should eat at least 6 meals.

So I have to increase my food intake regarding fast digestable protein. It seems very logical to me! Just one more question: are simple carbs (chocolate) also a good solution for a first meal, along with egg whites?
Thanx!

Is this true for hydrolysed whey or regular whey?

Chocolate tastes good but a plain white baked potato is a much better carb choice.................s imply spiking insulin with crap that`ll add nothing to your physique is not the answer.

yes..a simple carb like white potatoe with egg whites.; OR whey protein and dextrose.

either with supplements or with whole food.

or, since i gather that you are a "hard gainer" , you could have a whey/dexstrose shake along with a whole food meal that includes protein/carbs/fats that take longer to digest as well.

just eating quickly digestable nutrients in the morning will take you out of a catabolic state quickly; but will have you headed back towards catabolism pretty quickly as well; ...so getting some mid-range protein like chicken or tuna, along with some long range protein like red meat would be the best in the morning with your whey or egg whites.  and then having some oatmeal would cover quite soem time as far as carbs go; and you can stretch them out, and get your healthy fats, by supplementing with fish oil before you eat the oatmeal.

of course; thats alot of food and alot of nutrients.
whatever you can afford, can eat, and feel is appropriate for your metabolic needs.
