How Much Are NPC and IFBB Judges/Officials Paid?

How much will a judge at Nationals receive for his/her time?  How much might an NPC judge make at a smaller, local show?  How much do you get if you get to sit on the Mr. Olympia judging panel?  I've never heard any discussion regarding this, so I was just wondering.  Anybody know?

They are NOT paid they are reimbursed for travel and hotel expenses the judge for free .

I asked a promoter one time and I think he said he paid $400 per judge. This was for a local level NPC show. The judges have to be there pretty much all day though, for prejudging and the finals.

Well once put in that position, I'm sure one might learn a whole new appreciation for "politics."  It'd probably be a balance between placing the guys as the money dictated you did vs. making sure you got the opportunity to judge as you'd see fit at the next show...

A lot of promoters look at their gate and make a determination based on that, so it'll vary from show to show.

I'd love to be able to become one of the first IFBB judges able to come on the boards and attempt to justify a competitor's placing.  How awesome would that be?  That could very well just be a pipe dream though...

I wonder if judges take turns letting each other's "special interest" get preferential treatment.  Or maybe when you're on a judging panel you know that you have to let win whoever the head judge says win.  If you didn't, then you'd probably just lose your spot, huh?

Well, until I make it onto a judging panel, I'm gonna keep doing my thing on these boards to help see that competitors are placed as I think they should be.  Actually I'd rather formerly cover shows for Flex magazine than judge.  Tie it together with an associated online forum presence and that would have the highest influence on things.  How many of you guys would like to see me get a position doing something of that nature?

What magazine would you rather see it in, then?  Flex has the most resources and connections to make the most possible in terms of that.  Also, I'm not convinced that there's any future in Flex keeping it's online material quarantined to it's forum, either, so I'm not suggesting my contributions be restricted to being on their Forum alone.  The way they've got MadMax posting his content "exclusively" on Flex's forum doesn't really do anything for Flex's forum.  If anything good is posted there, it's simply linked to from Getbig, where we click on the link, look at the pics, then basically post the good stuff back here in our own version of the thread to be seen and whatever comments we have to make are made here.  The Getbig threads are essentially the only ones you need to read.  As it stands, if something happening in the industry doesn't make it to Getbig's G&O board, it may not be worth your time reading.

It just depends on how much the promoter wants to pay them; Im sure some don't get anything. He might have said $200, it was either 400 or 200. This conversation was several years ago so its hard to remember.
