Studies are a load of Garbage...
« on: October 16, 2007, 10:23:10 AM »
Because remember in the 70's and 80's, Doctors would say as well as Muscle and Fitness ect, that there is no definative proof that steroids increase athletic performane, or muscle mass.

Most are all show no go!

Some doctors in the 1970s said that there was no definitive proof that steroids worked because no one had published any studies, at least at the doses that bodybuilders were taking.   There were a few studies at very low doses, and its true, steroids don't build significant muscle mass at 10s of mg per week.

That doesn't mean all studies are garbage.

Although MOST studies are done with a predetermined result in mind...usually money is at the base of it though.

Concerning "doctors" opinions on drugs, the truth is that science will ALWAYS be two steps behind the athlete.  One huge flaw I find with these "scientific" experts is their ONLY believeing what is proven by studies....it's just as ignorant as the opposite  ::)

I think the clear implication of what he is saying is that he reads Muscle and Fitness.

Doctors are not scientists, and their opinions have little to do with the current body of scientific studies.  They generally just parrot the "conventional wisdom" of their peers without looking at the latest science.
