With good wheels, would Buchanan have been un-beatable?

Wow, that was the first time I've seen a video of him.....upperbody perfecton to say the least. The first person who comes to mind is Flex Wheeler, and I'm verge of saying that his upperbody was better than Flex'.

I seriously cannot understand why people would argue that old school BBing wasn't better, I mean seriously, isn't it obvious, I mean it's much harder to reach that conditioning and shape while keeping a small waist, in retrospect, it's easy to get big. BBing is just too easy nowadays.

Yeh and like Serge Nubret discusses on his thread, huge legs have ruined modern bodybuilders tapers because you just can't retain a tiny waist with 30+ inch thighs.!! Buchanan's legs are pretty much in proportion in that year ( 1988 I think ) - Later he added SOME size to them but it widened his waist and made him look worse!!

Ronnie morphed himself into the worst symmetry ever seen in BBing, Buchannon makes him look sick.

I think the question should be: who had the greatest upper body, not matching up with the lower body....Kal Skalak(sp) comes to mind...Joel Stubbs.

Taco, No, I was not there ! One of my buddies one the Super Heavyweight Class !!!

Yea I missed it too, was outa town.  He won the heavies and the overall.  My other buddy won the light heavies.  I know this gets thrown around a lot but, if you get to see pics, Paul who won the lightheavies, it was his 1st show, and he actually is natural.  He's of African decent and has the best genes of anyone I've ever known.

If I can sift through my memory, I can figure out who you are too ; )
