Kurds in Turkey have been fighting Kurds in Iraq for years.

I believe they should attack. Kurds are he largest population in the world without a homeland.

I met a kurd when I was in Europe a while ago. He told me how in Turkey they're not allow to speak their own language openly without being arrested. Turkey has only itself to blame for the kurdish problem - they are brutally repressed in what should be thier own "country".

The US has been looking for a way to make nice after selling Saddam the WMDs Saddam used on them back in the day.

That's pretty much above everything else.

So USA would be obligated to support Turkey.

That's why this situation is so delicate.

That's why this situation is so delicate.

I'm glad it took us until the bottom of the first page to get to the NATO thing. Anyway...We will ultimately look on with dismay has the Turks and Kurds fight it out. I would expect a diplomatic solution to this problem. This would cause major problems for us.

The Turkish Kurdish incursion is some ironic stuff.

Groups of Iraqi terrorists entered Turkey and killed three dozen turskish civilians.

Turkey wants to enter Iraq (the kurdish region) and kill them.

THe US doesn't want the Turkish there of course.

Anyone else see the irony? Turkey is employing the Bush doctrine - find the terrorists where they live. Yet we don't like it when OTHERS use it. We just tell Turkey "Relax, we'll look for them" knowing damn well we're not capable of weeding them out - after all, the same 2500 pricks have been killing our men for 4 years now and we can't stop them - they are only growing!

So anyway, Turkey is mad that Iraqi terrorists are coming over the border and killing civilians then hiding behind US forces.
