I think NY would be GREAT! Lots of people, hardcore fans and relatively easy to get around. I also suggest Miami. It's a bit humid there, but overall the weather is great and always shit to do. Or Boston. hardcore fans there too.

Bob, let's face it....we're better off asking for the Olympia to be rotated versus the judges. Cuz you KNOW that ain't happening anytime soon.

The location is good, although I think they should get a more prestigious hotel.

At this rate they are going to end up in Circus Circus before you know it.

Bottom line is...when it was at the Mandalay, people bitched it was too expensive....can't please everyone.

I'm more concerned with the venue the show is held, rather than the hotel...plenty of hotels in Vegas.

I understand that, but if this is the biggest show in the sport it should have top of the line accomodations.

You don't see the Super Bowl being held at Crappy Stadiums. They have to be held at the nice places.

Now about the venue...Isn't the problem that you don't want it TOO big because that defeats the purpose of the show.

Better advertisments of the parties and making it more inclusive is a good idea.

The Orleans ARENA is a top notch venue..the Orleans HOTEL suck ass. Like I said...If people don't like the hotel...stay somewhere else...I did. No big deal...I took a taxi over to the hotel for whatever we had going, and gambled/ sayed at the MGM....

Hmmm. I would suppose there would be numerous judges meetings, clinics to keep their skills up etc. Not to mention setting time aside to meet with the Muscletech reps to make sure their story is airtight.

Even though I am in favor of having former competitors judge, you'd have to be careful of who you get. I would think the competitor should be retired at least 5 years. Since the competitions are so subjective, I could see someone scoring a competitor lower because he talked shit about him when they were competing.

I'd love to see guys like Haney judging. I think someone like that posesses integrity and would be fair.

I think in order for this event to be truly a global competition, it should be held elsewhere, and overseas ffs.

I reckon it would go nuts in Asia and Europe. It would be better for the IFBB too having their 'top' competitors all overseas.

The general time frame would put the show in Miami at about the height of hurricane season.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Olympia move eventually, but for the time being, it needs to work on getting its legs and the best way to achieve that is to stick with a place that the organizers and fans know, which should allow it to grow.

Since the AMI takeover, the Olympia Weekend has improved each year and I thought they made their biggest step forward from 2006 to this year, so fans should expect an even better event in 2008. Once the O is a consistent big money maker, only then would I consider trying another city again.

I agree with all of these comments, although I DO think the host hotel needs to change.

But right now the problem is the actual SHOW.

I don't mind the Olympia being in Vegas every year - it's a city of excess which suits bodybuilding down to the ground but I think it would be cool if they have the Olympia in London one year just to be different. They've got the New York Giants playing the Dolphins at Wembley next week and they've also got the some NBA teams doing a European tour at the moment - American sport is coming East to attract a worldwide audience and bodybuilding should follow!
