MMA isn't lame. The UFC is. They promote the sport to 'tough wannabes' by using heavy metal music and thinking they are 'hardcore'.
When an organisation comes up to rival the UFC without their gimmick crap, they'll take over with more mainstream appeal.
good observation...UFC wasnt always like that, but to attain more audience they are creating a whole 'culture' behind the word mma. THIS really sucks very bad.
Thats why Pride even with the ridiculous fights (like fights with zuluzinho and giant silva) was considered a more 'serious' organization. Because it didnt had all this marketing tool behind it, it was about what it matters, the fighters and the fights itself....
I always loved Vale tudo (fuck mma) from the beginning, when we had down here all the pre historic events when almost everything goes on fight....But nowadays im more interested in k-1, even if it is not my favorite thing, just because there its all about the fighters
