I thought that was a terrible draft choice. Although Miami is stockpiling picks to rebuild. I can see Miami going for Matt Ryan out of BC if Beck does not pan out.

Maroney said he was 100 percent. Watching him run yesterday I would say that was about accurate. BB is not going to risk him hurting himself or re injuring that groin when the pats are leading 48 - 7 in the second quarter. A weird luxury the pats have never really had. Save those carries and that burst for indy and the skins. Dont use him when you are up by 40 points in the first half. Same deal with the defense, he pretty much shut em down at half time. Its hard to keep a team playing with max intensity when they are up by like 5 scores, you know?

This approach is perfect considering the fact injury's play a large role in a team success. Most peeps bitching about Maroney not playing are fantasy buffs. But we all know BB does not give a shat about fantasy stats.

Big Sey and Chad Jackson are all set to go. But again I think the pats are really trying to conserve guys the best they can considering the injury problems this team has had since 05. I think they will ease big say back in, then have him ready to go for week 10. We have to be careful with Maroney, Morris is on the shelf at least 2 more weeks.

I think the pats have a plan here. When they weather gets cold the running game is going to heat up. We need all hands on deck for the stretch.

I agree but I didn't think they'd limit him so much in the first half. I do like the approach. I am concerned with the defense but its hard to judge when we're up by so much every game. I saw alot of second stringers in the 2nd half. i think the run d improves with Sey in as oppposed to Green, who would appear to be more of a pass rushing specialist. We got out without injuries so that was another positive. Brady is on pass for 60 plus TD's.

I agree. The defense was mostly second string in the second half. It is also very hard to keep guys intense when they are up by 40 points at the half. 7 of those points scored by the phins where on a bonehead int thrown by Cassel also.

Currently our passing defense is great. I dont remember any big plays for scores. Our run d has had issues, but like you said that is what Seymour does best. Greene is fantastic at rushing the passer , but he is not good vs the run. Dont forget bro Ronnie Brown is a very very good running back. Couple that with the fact the pats took out a lot of starters and there you go.

If San fran stays on pace we will have a top 5 pick next year in the draft. Thats just insane. The rxtra third we have from the raiders should be high to. We got Assante in the third so I expect them to pick up another young corner at some point.

Yeah Brown and their O line are supposed to be the only bright spots. MOSS was not open for a single play that whole game. He's a freak. Anybody who says they aren't comfortable as a receiving corp, are nuts. Is there any talk on the radio about either Stallworth's or Moss's contract. We onl;y have Stallworth for 1 year, right?

Courtesy of the COLD HARD FOOTBALL FACTS

If you think the New England offense has looked pretty sharp this season, you're missing the big picture.

It looks like the greatest offense in NFL history.

We broke out the UNIVAC version of our beer-bottle cap abacus Sunday night and discovered that the 2007 Patriots, following their 49-28 win over the Dolphins earlier in the day, are now on pace to become the most prolific offense in NFL history.

That's right, folks. The most prolific offense in the entire history of the league. Not since the AFL-NFL merger. Not in the Super Bowl Era. We're talking No. 1 in the entire 88-season history of the league.

The 2007 Patriots, through Week 7, average a mind-boggling 39.86 PPG (279 points in 7 games).

The current record is held by the 1950 Rams, who scored 38.83 PPG (466 points in 12 games). The list of every offense that's scored 30 or more points per game can be found below.

Moss is a total freak. By far the best trade this team has ever made. Welker is on pace to get 1000 yards! Moss is already over 700, and stallworth is really coming on. his yac is insane. he is like a rb after the catch. Im telling you Welker is one of the best pure football players I have ever seen. Better then Troy Brown in his prime, by a lot. The way he rips across the field and tears the ball out of the sky is pretty impressive.

There is no talk currently about either guys contract as of yet. The bye week could bring things up. You could see extentions for both players during that week. Both contracts would have to be reworked and such.

The thing I am wondering about is Chad jackson. People forget this guy has the size of T.O but is much much faster. I dont know what they are going to do with him , but since he came back from injury he has been working his ass off. Moss, Jackson, Stallworth, Watson, Welker, Moroney and Morris is almost criminal.

Dont forget teams like the colts and the rams play in dome's. The pats have to play outside in the cold soon.

From Bill Simmons....Regarding the Pats' poring it on late. Does not include the Miami game.

Week 1 at New York Jets (38-14): 1-yard TD by Heath Evans, 1:58 left.
Week 2 vs. San Diego (38-14): 3-yard TD by Sammy Morris, 3:18 left.
Week 3 vs. Buffalo (38-7): 45-yard TD catch by Randy Moss, 10:22 left.
Week 4 at Cincy (34-17): 14-yard TD catch by Randy Moss, 3:18 left.
Week 5 vs. Cleveland (34-17): 15-yard fumble return TD by Randall Gay, 0:42 left.
(Important note: This came one play after the Pats failed to convert the "Eff You TD" on fourth-and-goal from Cleveland's 4 when Brady just missed Kyle Brady in the end zone.)
Week 6 vs. Dallas (48-27): 1-yard TD run by Kyle Eckel, 0:19 left.

Randy Moss and the Pats have outscored their opponents 230-92 in their 6-0 start.
What does this all mean, other than we should start preparing ourselves for the first 100-point game in NFL history against the Jets in Week 15? We have our first potentially dominant team of the hard-cap era, but more importantly, we have our first true NFL villain since the Raiders in the late-'70s. People hate this team. They want them to lose. It's like having the '96 Bulls back, only if everyone despised them and MJ played garbage-time minutes just to make sure every opponent lost by 20-plus points.

The Dallas game is crap. Turner called a time out when the pats where trying to run the clock out. Lastly the titans scored 30 points in the fourth quarter yesterday. No lead is safe these days. This pouring it on junk is just more crybabies mad there own teams cant stop the pats. This is the big boy's leauge. Defenses need to have some pride.

i mean honestly why would turner call a time out when the pats where running there 5th string qb trying to run down the clock.

I feel bad for dolphins fans. Honestly , losing Brown is unfair. I hope they have a very nice draft this year. This coming from a pats fan. The bills and the fins have suffered enough. Although buff has a nice young qb and once healthy will have a very good team.

The jets can rot however.

Really sucks for Miami, he was the only one putting up any numbers.  Hopefully he will be back as good as he was next year.

How long have you been following the Pats? how many years? i remember when the Pats were THE worst team in the league back when they had Andre Tippet and Irving Fryar. i thought they would never get out of the basement of the NFL. its always good to see teams make a comeback imo, thats what makes the NFL so great. ive been a afc east fan for about twenty years. we had some great qb's. in our div. too bad the Colts left some years ago.
