Rumour on muscle milk?
« on: October 24, 2007, 04:50:43 PM »
Is cytosport getting sued over muscle milk right now? I heard from a customer today that muscle milk does not meet label claims or something and the owner is getting sued, has anyone heard anything of the sort lately?

Well a Google turns up the following article on the T-mag site about a potentially dangerous substance in the Muscle Milk powder.  Then again T-rag has their own line of wonder supp's to push, and I'm sure they have our best interests in mind...

Not sure on the t-mag thing. But I read a news article cant' find it right now. And a dietician talked about Muscle Milk and said it was off label claim, just by tasting it. Went on to say it was basically a mix of cake batter, and added protein.
I use it to make
malts with, throw a bit of ice cream, and some strawberries, and malt mix, then some whip cream, good for a treat

I've done more testing of products than anyone on this board.  There is a BIG variance in the types of testing used.  Unless you use the right testing facilities, it's easy to get a false result.  Just an FYI.

Hey you :-)

The Pickets are a good family with a lot of passion for what they do.  What I've heard has nothing to do with product specs.  Since I do not know for certain if it's true and since I know the Pickets to be good people, I would not put a lot of credibility on the rumors.   That's all I have for now...

Yemeni, why did the guy (can't recall his name) who supposedly developed MM for Cytosport leave to go work for MRI and develop Pro-NOS?

Was it money only?  8)

That "guy" never worked for CytoSport.  The guy who developed the flavor profiles was an independent formulator.  He first offered the formula to SportPharma.  Dumbshit Mike Walls turned it down, so he walked across the street (literaly) and offered it to Picket.  Picket took the flavors and added his own macros/nutrients...all HEAVILY influenced by MET-Rx/Connelly.

I've been poor lately so i bought the wal-mart brand protein recently....looked up the amino profile it sucks compared to ON but i also just read about people talking about how muscle milk didn't meet label standards...but i figure for 12 dollars screw it......stuff tastes like crap i bet their amino profile is pretty accurate....I figure i'll do a cost vs calories vs amino analysis......do you believe that ON's amino profile is 100% accurate?  If we can't believe the things the labels say shouldn't we just go ahead and buy the cheap stuff and drink extra?  I noticed on the body fortress protein it says *APPROXIMATE PROFILE" ON uses the fancy wording "Typical"....Have you ever noticed how at the bottom of a tub of ON it tastes more sugary?  I've never tried muscle milk i thought it looked expensive and now after looking at their website they don't even have an amino profile and it only has 32grams of protein per 75g and it has a shit-load of fat no wonder it tastes great.....i mean protein powder + whole milk probably is probably equal to muscle milk although it does have a bunch of vitamins well i don't necessarily understand the muscle milk thing i guess cause they also sell other protein to add to your muscle milk?  sounds weird but what do you guys think i'm interested in the thoughts and opinons of the more experienced.....tell me why your protein powder is the best.....and why i shouldn't just drink as much of this cheap stuff as possible cause its the cheapest.....

Did you say walmart protein? Slap yourself who the fuck would actually put that into their body? We're currently stopping the ON protein line, it's total shit and they hiked the price on us from 22 to 38. Online retailers might continue to offer it for 38 for a month or two, but within 6 months the price will be around 45-50 for this crap and I couldn't be happier, I hope it chokes the company to death. You should never be cheap when it comes to your body.

You seem to be contradicting yourself here.

1.  All whey protein prices are going up, everywhere

2.  You bitch about prices going to up to this dude, then you slam him for buying Body Fortress, the cheap kind

3.  You say don't be cheap when it comes to your body, and drop ON for trying to maintain margin through increased prices

4.  Slap yourself, you're a shitty businessman
