1 Chris Cariaso vs. Richard McCorkel Decision (Unanimous) 3 5:00

2 Givanildo Santana vs. Jaime Fletcher Submission (Armbar) 1 2:46

3 Shane DelRosario vs. Amedeo Viola Submission (Armbar) 1 2:27

4 Muhsin Corbbrey vs.  Bobby McMasters Submission (Guillotine Choke) 1 4:59

5 Shayna Baszler vs. Jennifer Tate Submission (Armbar) 1 0:44

6 Malaipet MTA vs. Kaleo Kwan Decision (Unanimous) 3 5:00

7 Javier Vazquez vs. JC Pennington Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) 1 1:15

8 Jared Hamman vs. Aaron Rosa Submission (Rear-Naked Choke) 2 1:46

Not very many suprises here, except for the Rosa fight, I thought he shoulda kept the fight standing he was doing pretty well there, Hamman's Gnp is pretty dangerous.  Shayna Baszler looked pretty good too, it's bad ass to see a chick with a slick catch wrestling style, Barnett is teaching her well.

FWIW, I work some gigs for Showtime and I worked last nights show. It was at the Chumash Casino, in Santa Ynez, Ca., approx 30 miles north of Santa Barbara. Nice crowd 90% capacity. It's too bad that venue does not sell booze. With all those fights, girls, and music, I'd think a lot of booze would loosen up the big crowd. They were a bit quiet IMO.

Fight #5... I agree, Shayna looked real good. Her opponent was undefeated and she submitted her very quick. She's kind of sexy too, in person.

Fight #6... was strange; Malaipet pretty much stood back and kicked Kaleo at will. No take downs, just lots of kicks to Kaleo's front leg. After the fight, backstage, Kaleo could not walk.

Fight #8... was good action. I thought it could have gone either way, but as you said, Hamman's GnP is strong and  when his took Rosa's back and put the hooks in, that rear naked was a done deal.

Celebs in the crowd/as corners;  Tito Ortiz, Chuck Lidell, Josh Barnett, Nick Diaz, Mike "The Rhino" Burke (he's fighting Kimbo next month), one of the Gracie boys was there, Cesar, I think.

Kaleo "Genghis" Kwan is our kickboxing coach, he has better ground skills than Malaipet.  I think their plan was to have Malaipet stand at a distance and not engage Kaleo in a ground war.  Kaleo fought a tough fighter who was able to mantain HIS effective fighting range and keep Kaleo out of his.  Too bad, he, Kaleo, is a helluva a nice guy, great coach and good fighter.  Just not his night.

Kaleo was a real gentleman backstage. Very courteous and friendly with the Showtime staff. He had his wife, kid, and 8-9 young kids, all wearing his gym/sponsor shirts in attendance. They were all real cool. Like you said, just not his night in the cage.
