I grew up near St. Louis and have an upcoming med school interview out there.  Most of my family is still out that way.  I grew up in Granite City (moved away when I was 12) and my dad used to take me with him when he trained at the Gold's out there.  I remember there were some huge, strong steelworkers lifting there.  I go back to visit every year or so and love the city of STL...Granite not so much.

ha ha, there's no Granite, and it's not a City.

I went to college with a guy from Granite City.  He always said he's from "down south" , but would never say he was from Granite City.
