Agreed, as long as very moderate portions, also focus on fruits with high antioxidents (blue berries).
Yes. That's my main reason to add fruits. Interesting link to your remark:
http://www.webmd.com/content/Article/104/107640.htmLately i've become interested in longevity, and the anti-oxidants (like vitamins, polyphenols,..) will probably help overall health.
Probably they help fighting infections, inflammations, faster repair of damaged tissue,...
So from a bodybuilding standpoint it's also usefull.
I'm still learning and reading a lot, but these are some changes i've already implemented:
- a glass of red wine now and then: good source of polyphenols (resveratrol?), fights plaque in arteries, ...
- a small apple mixed in my oatmeal in the morning (red apple is better than green, even better would be from a bio farm)
- some blue grapes now and then
- bananas (tastes good and can't hurt, but i don't think it's really an "excellent" fruit choice)
- dark chocolate (highest concentration i can find, in moderation of course because of the fat)
If anybody has more suggestions, or tips that they use in their own diet, i'd be very interested in hearing it.
