longest competitive career
« on: November 01, 2007, 05:54:16 AM »
joe lazzaro competed in the 1956 aau  mr a  contest, and last year competed in the masters national contest in the over 70 category. a 52 year span of contests. it's probably actually longer but records being as they are don't list local contests which would probably add a few more years to this span.

A friend of mine back in Ray Mentzers gym was Francis Sequira (?).  He competed into his 80's.  He was unreal looking.  I introduced the writer who did a an article on something I did for Time Magazine.  He did an article on Francis that was in Life Magazine.  I just don't knwo what issue but it was in 1987 or so.

Reg Park-not only a long period of time beginning in the very early years but was also able to win throughout that period.

Len Bosland...started in the fifties (maybe earlier) and I just saw in Nat BB & Fitness that he competed in a show several months ago

Probably about 64-65...but he still looks very tight...gets away with it much better than any or most any other his age could.
