Rotator or possible labral tear. If the pain is unbearable when you're not using it, that's usually an indication of a tear especially if you don't have full ROM. I deal with all the time with physical therapy clients. For right now until you get a script for an MRI...Rest, Ice and 1600mg of ibuprofin.
100% correct. Excellent post.
I had this in my right shoulder. I would rest it, and it would eventually get better. But it would HURT / BURN for about a month or 2. Then It would ease up for 6 months or a year.
If the pain is unbearable, or still present after a week's rest with intermittent ice, then you have a tear . Possible labral. HOWEVER, if you feel a real tightening of the joint, it is probably a rotator cuff tear.
Bad news and more bad news. Which do you want first.
Bad news. Cortizone shot did shit. Stop those.
More bad news - X-ray will not tell you shit. Stop that as well.
MORE bad news.you need a special kind of MRI. You will need to get an injection directly into your shoulder joint first of a solution that will allow for a higher resolution. THEN you get an MRI.
(I had this done.. I DO NOT reccommend it. Getting needle through your pec, and then feeling the pressure build up in your shoulder was plainly no fun.. Not painful mind you, but NO FUN.
Good news. All of these are repairable with srthoscopic sugery..... but you will be out of the gym for 3 months..
I had this done, but it was WELL worth it.
over a year later and my strength has completely returned. It took a year though. No lie.
