These three have been the most vocal on the boards, the most recognized. Bob is with bb.com, Shawn is with Vyotech and MD, and Milos has his own gym and more. These three are businessmen.

You all forget that besides the contest prizes, which some get, the real money is in the endorsements with various companies, guest posings, advertising and other legal items, many bodybuilders do quite well, if you are in the top 30 rankings.

But does somebody go and ask you what you make? Does it make a difference?  Respect is respect, and the ones that do well are the ones that are businessmen in this day and age and go for the endorsement deals, not the ones who assume that things will just come to them.

If you're putting yourself out there as a celebrity/ pro athlete and make your money from public exposure, your salary is fair game for discussion...  it comes with the territory.  If you want the same privacy rights as a person with a "normal job", don't become a celebrity...  simple.

there is no way in hell Shawn is making 150,000.  He prob gets 2,000 grand for this moderator status, 2k from md.  so 4,000 grand total.  so i put him around 48,000 dollars a year.  i do not think Vyotec is paying him shit right now, and no other income.  His stint with MD will probl be only for a few years, so he may be broke/unemployed in a few short years...

It is a personal question. What does it matter how much somewhat makes? People can live off whatever they make.

Some teachers make $40K a year and are happy with what they do and earn? Life isnt all about money, money, money.  Satisfaction, enjoyment, fulfillment - all help. Hell, I know people who make over a million a year, and are not happy at all. Wish they could go back to the times that they had it easier, less stress, less complications. So it is all what you make out of it.

And I also know a lot of people who make $30-$40K a year, and enjoy life. True, they can't get a lot of the ammenities, but the basics - rent, food, clothes is being met. Strive to enjoy life, save, and keep your health.

Zabo used to ask, "Where is the pot of gold from bodybuilding?"  Some entrepreneurs made money. Jones, Arnold, and the supplement kings. Most bodybuilders made very little. Gyms are a high investment, low return competitive business. Good luck to anyone who can make a profit in bodybuilding.
