After watching this years Mr O it was quite dissappointed.Alot of athletes were very off including Tony Freeman, Jay Cutler, Marcus Ruhl, Melvin Anthony, and QT just to name a few. I remeber when the Olympia was the show of all shows. It seems like bodybuilding has gone backwardsw insteead of forwards. I remeber when the line ups, had Yates, Wheeler, Levrone, Ray,Coleman,Nasser, and Fux before he got his huge gut.Another very god line up was Coleman, Wheeler, Levrone, Nasser, and Ray. The line ups I spoke of would easily beat the athletes at the 2007 Mr O. Its to wish that Kevin Levrone, or Flex Wheeler comeback, and bring the same size & condition they brought back in 99.If they did they would smoke, Jay, Dex, Victor, with ease. Dont get me wrong todays guys are big, but they are using to much insulin, and Synthol that there arent nearly as stridated or hard as they used to be.Plus back then there was alot more momentum and excitment going into the Mr O.
This years Mr O was marketed terribly , I live in Vegas, and they did hardly anything to promote the Mr O .They didnt have any posters at the local gyms, not advertisements on billboards,or no radio TV, or any media coverage.
Why do you think the Expo had such poor turn out? I asked all my friends that workout, and they had no idea, what day the Mr O was taking place or even were it was being held at. We are talking about local bodybuilders who live in Las Vegas. Most of them find out the day of the show, and by then they had already made other plans
For the Mr O to survive, they need to market the show atleast 4 months before the show. The athletes need to not play the size game, but just come in hard. Trust me all of them have more then enough size. The IFBB needs to crack down on there athletes, for coming in soft, using syntol, or having a gh gut.
Otherwise, the Mr O is only going to get smaller and smaller every year. Thank god for the Arnold Classic, otherwise, bodybuilding would be in real deep shit, lmao
