Its interesting to see that Zane didn't really make much of a change from 1970 until 1977 when he won his first olympia. He just had to wait until Arnold and Franco retired.

The thing that I noticed, like all smart BBer's like (Shawn, LaBrada) he didn't worry so much on size but rather conditioning, during that 7 year span, his conditioning improved 10 fold, I wish todays BBer's could see this.

That is bodybuilding.  Today its a mess.. just deformed bodies.  Most bodybuilders today are just focused on who is bigger rather than the detail and balance.  Most of these guys look around 190-230lbs.  The less drugs you take the better.. natural is the way to go.  Going to the grocery store is where you get bigger.

i always admired zanes build,esp later on his mr o run,but ur telling me from 70 to 77 ,7 years before his mr o win not one increase in overall legs mass ,had great calves and conditioning got stellar later on but he cruised with same legs only harder and seperated later.

Arnold yes but Franco was given his 1976 Olympia. A present from Arnold and Joe you could say. True Farnk didnt put on much mass in them years but he always said he didnt want to anyway. Idont know if he's telling thetruth or if its an excuse for his lack of progress in a lonbg time. If you look at the whole feild there you see Dickerson Franco and Frank are the best of a rotten lot. Nothing stands out in that lineup. I was better than the lot of them put togeter in my first regional.
Okay so a lot hand changed from 1970 to the middle 80s but still even in early 20s I xouldve beaten anyone in that show on mass alone. and before anyone sez it I wasnt a heavy user in them days.
