Any gym that keeps a full stock of bumper plates like that is bound to be a pretty decent place. I'd rather lift there than Gold's Venice or many of the other gyms folks routinely cream their jeans over.

When I first started working out, it was at Bally's.
I got kicked out for PT a client.

Found the Apollon and never looked at another "franchise" gym to work out in.

Those dirty, dingy hole in the wall gyms usually have men and women who are serious about their workouts.
Also, friendly and willing to give advice....as long as you know when the right time is to ask.

Yeah thats him, he's going for his third world championship in a row this year in Mexico.. Strong, strong dude.. He has benched 255kg unofficially and 245kg officially at 90kg

First time I came in there were loads of people stainding around the this guy Squating I think 7 plates each side, loads of shouting and so forth.
I guess when I know the people I get more comptable.

they all train barfood when Squating, that should tell you something about the place, fuckin great.

i have never understood this. why some people get intimmidated by stepping inside a gym for the first time. what do they expect. that the big weightlifters gona beat them up if you eyeball them lol

The guy is insane strong, I have only seen him once lift and it was amazing.
He is really nice as well.

Especially since I didn't had a clue who he was and he never mentioned the fact that he competing in the world championship

Please tell me they turn off the airconditioning during the summer and the heat during the winter. That would go well with the rusting, but colored plates.

Very nice. Do you communicate with your fellow lifters by grunts and dirty looks? Like grunt once for yes, and twice for no, and three times for a spot? Scowl at someone when they're trying to do curls in the squat rack?
