Reg Park: A True Legend
« on: November 13, 2007, 06:59:57 PM »
The Park Family is sad to inform you that Reg has been in ICU over the past week and that Reg will be taken home today. There is nothing further that can be done for him there and we want him to be comfortable and surrounded by his family and friends. This is a very difficult time but we would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all who have been calling and sending messages of love, good wishes, and prayers over the past months. Reg certainly has the ability to bring out the best in everybody who comes into his sphere.  This has been evident over the last months with the many medics that have been attending to Reg, whose spirits are instantly lifted when they are around him.
We thank you all and will keep you posted, but Reg’s time is short. Please use Reg's Guestbook to post messages.

Reg is a true LEGEND.  May God bless Reg Park.

That's too bad, God bless Reg and his family.

Anyone who is ARNOLD'S idol must be one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.

Damn. Very sad to hear :( :(

The guy was a true legend and after hearing him on PBW, seemed like a very nice and genuine guy. Anyone who was Arnie's idol must have been one hell of a guy.

God bless Reg and his family during this sad ordeal.
No doubt about it...

From his website:

13 November, 2007

Reg is happy to be at home and has taken the time to talk to all of his family about life and  after life. He is still enjoying  the wonderful meals cooked by the love of his life, Mareon, and has some good moments. Reg and Mareon just celebrated their 55th anniversary.

He is frustrated with the illness and at times  cannot understand what has happened in his body. We are frustrated that there is not much that can be done about this metastatic melanoma disease as in every other way Reg is the Reg we have always known, strong minded, positive, inspirational and making everyone who comes into his space feel special. Again we thank you all for your messages which we read to Reg daily.

Much love and respect for you all, his daughter, Jeunesse.
and keep moving!

I be honest with you, it affects me as much as the 6+ people that died today in a carbomb in mosul, everybody dies one day, Reg Park is a legend and always will be, he must have had a brilliant life probably much better than most of us.
so no I don't feel "bad"... shocked that he goes maybe, but not bad.

Bill Pearl is a beast. You could tell he was a strong guy, but still looked like a BB.

Bill Pearls Gym was located at 1943 W Manchester Ave. Los Angeles before moving to Pearl moved it to Pasedena. The Gym on manchester is still there but no longer owned by Pearl. "The Coach" trained with Pearl I think at the Pasedena Gym.

Reg Park, Bill Pearl, Joe Gold, Armand Tanny were legends in the history of bodybuilding. A sad ending for a legend like Reg. I never met him but I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Pearl at the Ironman a few years ago. The guy was all class.
and keep moving!
