aesthetics vs. mass vs. combination
« on: November 14, 2007, 03:27:53 AM »
what is the best package to have onstage? aesthetics, with limited muscle... mass, with terrible aesthetics... or a combination of both?

doesnt have to be who u think should win. can be what sort of physique u would rather see onstage.

so we have trev saying serge nubret (aesthetics) beats chris cormier (combination), we have ifbb judges say jay cutler (mass) beats vic mart and dennis wolf (combinations) and we have arnold (combination) going over serge nubret and lou ferrigno (aesthetics, and mass).

so what the hell is the best package to have onstage? aesthetics, with limited muscle... mass, with terrible aesthetics... or a combination of both?
WE HAVE JAY CUTLER OR WE HAVE DENNIS AS POTENTIAL WITH A KINDERGARTNERS ASS :-[

The best idea is to let joe weider massage your cock backstage, that all but guarantees top 3

Ha ha  -  At the end of the day its all apples against oranges. The athletes should remain true to themselves and be the best that they can be, not try to be some other competitor that has placed above them. To me the best looking physique should win and that in itself should meet all criteria on that individual.

trev, if u think serge, who is 80:20 aesthetics, should beat chris cormier, who is about 50:50 aesthetics/mass, how is serge the 'best' looking physique? it goes against what u just said there.

Naah, to me Serge wins. Cormiers legs are too big (I know they are Ok by todays standards, but thats TOO big), his neck is took thick, his waist is a tad too thick and his arms are not good enough. He's VERY good compared to most of todays bodybuilders but he just CAN'T beat the incredible "illusion" that Serge Nubret created on stage.

serge was a master at posing, no question. but he gives about 25-30lbs of muscle to chris, with only two inches tops on waist size, due to the obliques. both achieved relatively same conditioning at their best, with chris taking the nod due to striations.

It's a combo of mass aestethics symetry and the ability to present it properly. THAT looks best : on stage and off.. :)

Always difficult to judge 2 guys from different era's but Serge could create the illusion of being MUCH bigger than he was. If these guys posed off I think you'd be surprised as the muscle quality and detail that Serge had at his best was amazing.

sev, thats partly why arnold is so reveered. he always looked great in poses because he knew how to pose to show himself off the best, not to mention having the combination of everything.

serge at his biggest was quite big. the profile shot in serges 'history of mr olympia' photopage is a good representation of that.

The Weiders, IFBB AND Arnold feared Serge - Hence the 1975 Olympia stitch up, see Serge's thread ...
