Who are these 'gym barfers'?
« on: November 14, 2007, 11:21:40 AM »
Every day I read a training thread by some monster here who claims he does legs til he pukes, every time, because he's so hardcore.

I've been training for ten years in a gym, and never once heard someone vomiting in the place.

Please tell us where these hardcore gyms are, where every squat rack has a hanging volmit bucket and the mats are always sticky with today's partially digested breakfast.

If i eat a big meal within an hour or so of training legs, i get sick to my stomach, so the simple solution is to cut out meals prior to training legs.  Theres nothing hardcore about puking, its just plain retarded.

High reps on squats and leg extensions makes little nauseous, but I've never actually thrown up. I've seen a couple, usually because they ate the wrong thing too close to training.

Your gym is okay with you running into a stall and loudly vomiting, 52 times a year?

WTF gym is okay with dozens of members choosing to spew stomach acid and eggwhites on their porcelin every day?

Gym owners, speak up too!  How often do people vomit in your gyms?

HAHAHAH, so true.  What if everyone was doing this?  The hardcore gym barfers are the same guys who will throw a temper tantrum if metallica or pantera is not on the radio and cry for days when the gym implements a no-chalk policy.

well since im a big lazy pussy when it comes to training legs and i really couldnt give a fuck less if i have "monster quads" or not, i tend to follow the "legs respond better to high repition" advice as a way of rationalizing easy workouts...haha  :D...   and really, my legs arent half bad, considering i never ever go heavy. i just make sure to get in plenty of sets, plenty of reps, and short rest sets. get a nice deep burn without much effort. lots of machines too.

I could just  see your mom running out into the garage just in time to see you shoving a finger down your throat then puking into neon green puke bucket, after a monster set of 20 reps with 115 on the leg press.

You're a beast.

I bet the nitrotech/gakic/aplodan stack you drink with hawaiian punch (your bastardized milos shake) helps you recover from all the lost nutrients, though.

I'm doing legs today myself.

I'm telling everyone within earshot to back up, I'm about to unleash "big mal" style, and hit them with a few ferocious screams before half-repping some leg extensions and then streaming some vomit at all who dare invade my space.  Feel me!

what's so hardcore about throwing up? it's one of the stupidest things possible not only have you lost a meal in which you ate, you've lost electrolytes, nutrients etc and if you do it every single time you're no doubt not reaching your actual potential for size and strength.  Intensity should NOT be mistaken for stupidity.

Coward.  You gotta be willing to vomit for this shit.  To get big (I'm talking 180 big, you gotta be willing to outwork everyone and go the extra step.  I once shoved a kid while he was doing squats, because I needed the rack for bicep supersets and he was doing leg exercises.  I decided to flee to my car when he fell awkwardly, but you get the point.

You gotta be willing to TAKE the shit from people.  no handouts.
