This is elite,qualification numbers in
single-ply feds like USAPL and USPF. Dunno what the numbers are for other feds.

Or what the numbers are in RAW feds.

so If I get my squat up to about 650-675, pull 705 like i'm planning and bench in the 400's I should be happy?! My goal is to make elite by next year raw. My squat just sucks.  :(

Dude, you seriously need to look at the individual federation that you are competing in.  Each one has their own guidelines for "elite".  Typically its somewhere near or over 1900 for all three lifts in single plye federations.  It goes up the more plyes there are in your gear.  My advice is read the rules for the federation you are competing in.

good point...I was more along the lines of raw/singly ply feds than anything else. I figured if you're totalling around 1800 you're doing a pretty good job. I realized for the  meet i'm doing in january that my wrist and knee wraps are too long and have to re order some shorter ones.I didn't realize that was considered that big of an advantage

They need to adjust the rankings big time. To get an elite ranking in 220lb class in the APF which is a multi-ply non-tested fed you need to total 1875, which isn't that big of a deal when you have double ply briefs, canvas suits, open back double ply shirts etc.

But in the USAPL which is a single-ply tested fed you need to total 1820, and in the 100% RAW fed you need to total 1551, both very hard to do.

If you look at the totals for this year you have about 5 guys in the 220 that have totaled elite in the single ply and another 5 in the raw divisions, but you have about 40 that have totaled elite in the multi-ply divisions. The multi-ply elite totals need to go up at least 200lbs IMO.

if a 1500 total is hard to do you either need to figurre something out training wise or not use rely on gear so much...because that's ridiculous. Those are highschool totals.

I thought in 2007 APF was increasing totals for "elite" status.  I dont' know about the 220 class, but shw is going to be over 2200  (I think).

Oh yeah sure lots of high school kids can squat 550 bench 400 and deadlift 600 raw at and then pass a drug test, no problem.

If it's so easy to total 1550 raw at 220lbs why have only 5 people managed to do it this year?

Is this "100% RAW fed" a division of USAPL? If so I need to get my elite status......so that I can get (blue) stars by my name on GetBig! ;D

No 100% RAW is a separate fed. I don't know if the USAPL even has a raw elite classification.

In the IPF its around a 500 wilks if you are at the top of a weight class that gives you an elite for men. Not sure about women. Think its around 420 wilks. I think the womens numbers need updating. I know one girl who got her elite as a subjunior.

You're a strong dude but remember that gym lifts and competition lifts are two completely different ball games, your head will not always be where you want it in front of judges and crowds. what you might think is a good lift in the gym might get 3 reds in a meet.

i've trained high school and college kids for years and not a single one could even dream about a 1500 drug free RAW total, even the 300 pound guys.

Good luck.

Hmm...  There's a 350 pound (off season) college football player who trains at my gym who totals 1500 without the bench press.  That's raw (T-shirt, shorts, shoes).

He would have to have a 500+lb bench to be elite in his weight class according to the chart above. Better hope its not a tested federation either.

He benches 565 for about 6 reps, raw.  I have no idea what he's "on," I've barely met the guy.

So he's the strongest teen in the world?

Congrats.

Don't congratulate me, I'm just reporting the news.

I don't know how old he is.  He is a red shirt freshman, which means he is probably over 19 and not a "teen," but yes, he is the strongest guy I've ever met.  (I may be low on the bodyweight.)
