Once you decide the brand, what flavor of vanilla? Double Vanilla, Vanilla Bean, Cherry Vanilla, French Vanilla, or straight ahead vanilla?
Did you know that when you have vanilla ice cream and you add pecans to it, as in Butter Pecan Haagan-Das, it changes the flavor of the vanilla should you just eat the ice cream without the pecans.
There's also a buttload more vanilla variety flavors if you include all the add-in's that can be used. For example- Tollhouse Cookie Dough, or French Vanilla Fudge Pie.
