just saw a preview (ad) for the new Will Smith movie
I AM LEGEND - wasn't that originally an Arnold project
before he got invoved in this politics thing

Yes. they still tried to get him to do it a few years ago but he declined. i read that the producers held the script for him for quite some time.

It is? Looks like I was way off. I could have sworn I saw Will living all alone in New York in some type of Post apocalyptic shit.

Both have charisma and a cocky attitude, one is just a bigger actor, the other has a state to govern, I think that takes precedence over a movie.

Don't know about the Vampires but your right about the alone in NYC part.

He's one of the last regular humans. Everyone else is a vampire... hence he's alone during the day. He couldn't be legend if there was no one around to mythologize him.

Will Smith is a Legend because the vampires speak of him as a vampire killer. He is a scientist trying to figure out a cure using his blood.

The novel has been made into a film twice before:
The Last Man on Earth (1964), Vincent Price in the lead.
The Omega MAn (1971), Charton Heston in the lead.

They probably brought Will Smith in because it looks so damn similar to Independence Day - that seem to be his line of work in action movies these days.

And yes, it was originally going to be Arnold's but they canned that a long time ago.

I think Will Smith is good for any future type movie. Like I Robot. He fits a kind of black/white role that Americans wish the other negros would hurry up and achieve already

I can't stand any movie with Will Smith and his over-the-top acting.

But this looks kick-ass!

Of course, I will not be going to the theater to see it due to my last experience when I went to see Rob Zombie's Halloween (don't get me started).

I've taken the route of buying the movies and then watching them in the comfort of my own home.
