Can we please have a one on one debate?  What ever happened to the cage?

Someone challenge me, lets get it on!

I'm not sure we have enough people posting right now to have any kind of vote on the winner.  As we get closer to election time, more people will be posting.  We're just about to head out of that middle area between elections where people are so sick of it all they can't stand to hear anything political.  I liked the cage idea and am lost at why nobody has done it.  maybe the rules are to restrictive.

OK I see, but I do think unbiased people that don't post on the Politics and Political Issues Board much would be better judges anyway?

I agree if they would do it...  If you can get a challenge going, it would be cool.

maybe a good way to start would be to list half a dozen or so topics you're interested in, briefly noting where you side and see if there are any takers?

Affirmative Action: Against
Church-State Issues: Church should stay out of Politics This argument gets brought up for Catholics when there has only been one Catholic President.  Also, besides gay marriage and moral opinion on abortion, what policies has Christianity actually pushed forth in American legislature recently?

One of your arguments is pointless but the others could bring good debate.

Maybe you're right? Some of the churches around here really pushed for the congregation to vote Bush/Cheney though.  I witnessed that a few times.

As far as I understand what was constructed as the "separation" was that the government should not establish religion or restrict religious freedom.  Conversely, the early Americans and some today feared that the Catholic Church would interfere in US politics because it was thought that a Catholic president would answer to the Pope.  There have been interpretations as to what constitutes violation of this.
