I doubt there's any info on it, but I like doing stuff like that. Sauna and then ice shower or jump in the snow feels really great.

Apparently a lot of MLB and NHL teams do that treatment as well, I think it has some effect on relaxing the muscles.

For a big guy, he seems to move pretty quick (I guess not quick enough for the NFL though?).

Many athletes do the ice bath....Kevin Costner did it in Bull Durham!

Ice dips or chill dips are awesome. I had one next to our hot tub awhile back at my old house. We are having one put in our new gym in Vegas in the therapy room. Going hot to cold is great for circulation. Sticking your arm or leg in a cold dip is great being it helps restrict inflamation due to overworking the muscles and joints.
