240 vs LiftStudio
« on: November 25, 2007, 06:41:00 AM »
Who's putting out the best bbing sites?  LS still has the lead but needs to update his site.  240 has come along way sign since those oversized font days.   Good going.
Oh...Monica!

Issac puts together great websites, has more experience, and is problably a better designer than Rob however Rob's better business and marketing skills literally stomps a mudhole in Issac and he picks up a number of clients because of that.

Me and 240 have had our differences especially when he first arrived on Getbig and was basically pwning me left and right with those G' damn flash presentations of me but despite that I gave him a chance and had him design a basic banner for me and he pops up this bee pollen and cayenne pepper one.  Needless to say, I was horrified at first but he said to trust him on it and when I put it on my site my business practically doubled because he knew that playing off my known likeness is good for business.

Overall, I would have to chose Rob as the better web designer because while Issac can put together a great website, Rob has put together a good website that can bring traffic and business to it.

If you don't agree, look at Jack London's site.  Jack London is a mediocre bodybuilder but he got a lot of press due to his website.  That's what counts folks

My pick:  Rob

Lift does great work.  I frequently send people his way if I'm not a good fit for them.

Garraeth is always my recommendation for anyone needing an ecommerce site - his work is incredible and he knows his SEO.

I feel that I offer a good mix of web design, business acumen, marketing, and above all, value.  My biggest goal is the client gets a complete site for a good price ($300 for a complete site, delivered in less than a month) and starts making money off it very quickly.  Having the MBA doesnt hurt either, as I often help clients plan markeing resources and efforts.

There are a lot of other good web designers out there.  Stark, alexxx, Matt C, and rocket all work in this arena, I believe.  The goal is to find someone you can trust who can help you reach the goals of your firm.

Vince - I remember that animated bumblebee clip - very cool that it did so well!

Rob has a good nose how to push Business...

If he would "invest" some time in Designing (Webdesigning has moved quit a bit) his pages could look a lot better.
At the moment (and you will forgive me for this Rob) his webpages look a little dated and a little like somebody who has done a Flash/HTML webpage for the first time.
